Medicare Star Ratings

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created a Star rating program to evaluate the overall quality of care that Medicare beneficiaries receive from their health plan, physicians, hospitals, and other providers.

The ratings support the efforts of CMS to improve the level of accountability for the care provided by physicians, hospitals, and other providers.
