Payment Policy - Intravenous Therapy

Payment for intravenous therapy is HMSA's eligible charge, less any member copayment and/or deductible.

HMSA's payment for intravenous therapy administration is an all-inclusive rate that includes, but is not limited to, professional services (including nonphysician services) associated with administration, handling expenses, use of the treatment room, associated medical/surgical supplies, and routine and oral pharmacy items associated with intravenous therapy administration.

Note: Unless otherwise noted, the policies and claims filing instructions in this section do not apply to Medicare-based plans such as 65C Plus.
