• Prior Approval For Medical Services (Precertification)

  For some services, you or your physician must get approval from HMSA to make sure the services meet our payment guidelines.

  HMSA plans cover a variety of tests that can fall under one of two categories: screening or diagnostic. The reason you are taking a test determines the category.

  The UH/Chaminade Student Plan is the only HMSA plan that includes medical evacuation benefits that can get you home from outside the U.S.

• Marriage: Adding a Spouse to Your Plan

  You can add your spouse to your HMSA plan within 31 days of your wedding day. The effective date of coverage will be the first day of the next month.
