Healthy Eating
This class teaches the basics of nutrition and strategies for healthier eating.
Participants will:
- Learn simple ways to estimate caloric needs and appropriate portion sizes of food.
- Develop a balanced daily meal plan based on current national guidelines of the major food groups.
- Practice reading food labels.
- Discover strategies for better meal planning and preparation, including recipe modification,
food shopping tips, and more.
- Explore eating habits and their role in weight control and general health.
This class is offered as two two-hour sessions or as one four-hour session (includes
a half-hour break).

18 and older.
