HMSA’s 65C Plus is a health plan designed especially for people in Hawaii with Medicare
who want coverage beyond what Medicare provides.
Basic Option provides coverage for the following Medicare-approved services:
- Physician services
- Inpatient hospital services
- Outpatient hospital services
- Post-hospital skilled nursing facility services
- Home health care
- Psychiatric services
- Clinical laboratory services
- Ambulance services
- Durable medical equipment
- Prosthetic devices
- Blood and its administration
And 65C Plus is easy to use. There’s no paperwork when you use 65C Plus contracting
providers, no worries about waiting periods or health screenings, and you’ll
never lose your coverage because of your health status.
65C Plus has a contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS),
the government agency that runs the Medicare program. This contract renews each
year. At the end of each year, the contract is reviewed, and either 65C Plus or
CMS can decide to end it. It is possible for our contract to end at some other time
during the year, too. If the contract should end, HMSA will provide advance notice
to all 65C Plus members.
