Your vision care benefits cover services to:
- Test eyes for visual acuity.
- Identify and correct visual problems with lenses and other equipment.
Freedom of Choice
HMSA’s Vision PPO plan gives you the freedom to visit any vision provider you choose.
To get the best value for your health care dollar, HMSA recommends that you choose
a participating Vision PPO provider. And since HMSA offers you access to the largest
vision care network in Hawaii, it’s easy to find one – just refer to the health
plan directory provided by your employer or Find a Doctor.
You will also receive benefits if you use a nonparticipating provider. The benefits,
however, differ from those you would receive if you went to a participating provider.
Cost Savings
HMSA has contracted discounted rates with:
- Ophthalmologists.
- Optometrists.
- Opticians.
- Optical dispensers.
Eligibility: PPO vision benefits are available through HMSA’s PPP and CompMED
from your employer. Check with your employer regarding your health plan benefits.
