If you rarely see a doctor but would still like to have coverage just in case something goes wrong, Akamai Advantage Select (PPO) will offer you just that. It also comes with many preventive health services to help you stay healthy, routine vision coverage, and discounts for dental and hearing services.
2014 Akamai Advantage individual plan members: Your plan is closing
What you need to do
To stay with Akamai Advantage in 2015, look over the plan options and choose a new Akamai Advantage plan. Be sure to look at the plan options for the island you live on – there are two new plans available on Oahu and two new plans available on the Neighbor Islands.
You need to make some decisions about your Medicare coverage. If you don’t take action before December 31, you’ll lose your Akamai Advantage plan and only have Original Medicare starting January 1, 2015.
Why your plan is closing
To keep our Akamai Advantage plans financially sound for years to come, we had to adjust benefits and costs. Instead of automatically transitioning you to a new plan, you need to choose one for yourself.
