Body Power

Of all the efforts a person can make to improve their health, exercise has the most benefits. It helps increase blood circulation, improve lung capacity, regulate blood sugar, strengthen muscles, and more. But people need encouragement to get started and employees are no different. Improved employee health can benefit employers, too, because healthy employees generally take fewer sick days.

HMSA’s health education classes are available at no cost to HMSA members and are available on evenings and weekends. Or, they can be taught at the worksite for a fee. Body Power is a great class for employees who haven’t exercised in a while. Encourage your employees to take advantage of their HMSA benefits and sign up for Body Power.

In three sessions, they’ll learn:

  • Skills in strengthening, aerobics and stretching.
  • How to exercise safely.
  • How to stay on track.

Each two-hour class also provides lifestyle information and learning through group activities.
