Health Plan Hawaii

Want to provide your employees with comprehensive coverage in a cost-effective, managed care plan? The answer lies in Health Plan Hawaii (HPH).

HPH is a health maintenance organization (HMO) plan that emphasizes maintaining your employees’ good health with preventive care benefits. HPH’s predictable costs also allow them to budget for health care expenses.

With HPH, your employees select a health center and a personal care physician (PCP) within that center to ensure consistent, managed care. Their PCP treats and coordinates your employees’ health care needs with specialists and other health providers. Each family member covered under HPH can select their own health center and PCP. Your employees and their family members choose from the largest network of HMO providers in Hawaii, with more than 1,700 providers statewide.

A major advantage of HPH is its predictable costs with low, fixed copayments for most services, including physician office visits. Your employees will also have 100 percent coverage for outpatient lab services, hospital stays and surgery. And most preventive care services are available at no cost, including routine physical exams, well-woman exams, mammograms, prenatal care, well-baby care visits, and immunizations.

Your employees also don’t have to worry when they’re away from home. HPH provides access to urgent care services across the United States and emergency care worldwide through BlueCard. And HMSA’s Guest Membership Program provides full benefits with other Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans for members who are on the Mainland for 90 days or more.

HPH includes the following health plans:

  • Health Plan Hawaii (including Health Plan Hawaii Plus)
  • HMO Hawaii
