Your personal care provider is a key health resource

As an HMO member, your personal care provider (PCP) is the first point of contact when you need medical assistance.

Your PCP:

  • Advises you on personal health issues.
  • Diagnoses and treats medical problems.
  • Makes referrals and coordinates any care required from appropriate specialists.
  • Keeps your medical records updated.

Maintaining a relationship with your PCP helps ensure that your health care needs are met and that you get the most from your HMSA benefits.
