HMSA's dental, prescription drug, vision, and chiropractic riders
In addition to a variety of medical plans, HMSA offers separate add-on plans outside of your medical coverage. Each add-on plan covers prescription drugs, vision services, dental services, or chiropractic care. These add-on provisions are called insurance riders and are usually available through your employer.
Dental coverage
HMSA dental plans may be available through your employer or as an add-on to an individual medical plan. Please contact your employer or your employee organization to inquire about enrolling in dental coverage. If you have obtained individual medical coverage on your own, you may purchase your own Dental Plus PPP, Dental PPP, or Dental HMO. Prescription drug coverage
HMSA prescription drug coverage may be available through your employer or employee organization. Please contact your employer to inquire about enrolling in drug coverage. Drug plans are not available from HMSA if you have obtained individual medical coverage on your own.

Vision coverage
HMSA vision plans may be available through your employer or employee organization only. Please contact your employer or employee organization to inquire about enrolling in vision coverage. If you are enrolled in a PPO or CompMed medical plan, you are eligible to enroll in a Vision PPO plan. If you are enrolled in an HPH/HMO medical plan, you are eligible to enroll in a Vision HMO plan. HMSA provides members who are not eligible for an employer or employee organization vision plan vision care discounts through its HMSA365 program. Chiropractic care coverage
