HMSA’s commitment to quality health care in Hawaii includes
a voluntary and thorough evaluation by the National Committee
for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA’s accreditation standards
are set high to encourage health plans to continually improve
their quality.
With the highest level of NCQA accreditation for HMO plans,
HMSA’s Health Plan Hawaii currently holds Excellent Accreditation.
“Excellent” is granted for service and clinical qualities that meet
or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and
quality improvement.
“Full” is the highest level of accreditation for PPO plans that
meet strict NCQA standards for continuous quality improvement.
The following HMSA plans have earned Full Accreditation from NCQA:
